Secretary should have taken some heat during Quincy visit

To The Herald-Whig:

Our Sen. Richard Durbin had it correct in his view printed in The Herald-Whig on Aug. 3. Human and Health Services Secretary Tom Price's visit to Quincy should have been a confrontation about his crafting of the Republican's repeal and replace of the Affordable Care Act. Considering the pain that could have been unleashed in Illinois and specifically in Quincy with the passing of any of these health care bills, Price walked away unscathed.

And what the heck is the deal with our own representative, Darin LaHood? Doesn't he understand his own district? He voted for the worst version of repeal and replace, yet he acts like he is doing us a favor with this little photo-op, while avoiding his own town hall meetings. You can't deal with the opioid crisis or much of any other medical crisis without a medical infrastructure that would have been decimated by any of the Republican-crafted health care proposals.
