HANNIBAL, Mo. -- A Hannibal man is facing multiple drug charges after he was arrested Tuesday evening.

The Hannibal Police Department said Jon R. Morton, 31, was found at 3650 Stardust and arrested on multiple warrants in connection to July 3 narcotic search warrants conducted by officers in the 2600 block of Carroll and 900 block of Ernest.

During a search of Morton, officers reportedly found items consistent with the distribution of methamphetamine. Further investigation led to officers allegedly finding what was believed to methamphetamine consistent with distribution in the car Morton drove to the location.

Police said new charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia were sent to the Marion County prosecuting attorney's office for review.

Morton was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he is being held on four active warrants.
