MONROE CITY, Mo. -- Three people were taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital and a fourth had minor injuries after a midnight golf cart crash near Mark Twain Campground.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports an Ez-Go golf cart driven by Karalyn C. Benden, 21, of St. Charles, was on Landing Lane near Mark Twain Campground, three miles east of Monroe City, at midnight Friday. The patrol said the vehicle attempted to make a sharp left turn and overturned.
Three passengers in the cart -- Sydney C. Bickmeyer, 19, and Ashley A. Callow, 20, both of St. Charles, and Jamie C. Matteoni, 30, of Wentzville -- were taken by private auto to Hannibal Regional Hospital with moderate injuries. Benden sustained minor injuries.
The patrol was assisted by the Ralls County Sheriff's Department.
