Loraine man escapes injury when tractor-trailer overturns

O'FALLON, Mo. -- A Loraine, Ill., man escaped injury when his semitractor-trailer overturned after a Wednesday morning crash in St. Charles County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 International senitractor-trailer driven by Billy Allison, 66, of Kansas City, Mo., and a 2014 Volvo semitractor-trailer driven by Raymond D. Steffen, 42, of Loraine, were westbound on Interstate 70 at route K at 4:45 a.m. The patrol said the International traveled off the right side of the road, then returned to the road and its front left side struck the right side of the Volvo. Both vehicles overturned after impact.

Allison was taken by St. Charles County EMS to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis (West) with minor injuries.

The patrol said both drivers were wearing seat belts.
