QUINCY -- Jack Lucey's grand slam in the bottom of the fifth ended the game as the Quincy High School baseball team defeated Macomb 12-1 Thursday afternoon.
Quincy (17-8) scored three runs in the first inning on RBI singles by Lucey and Ben Schroeder, along with a sacrifice fly from Drake Green. The Blue Devils added four more runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run single from Alex Harbin.
After Dax Flowerree hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth to make the score 8-1, Lucey hit a 2-1 count pitch over the left-field fence, bringing home Drake Green, Schroeder and Alex Stratman.
Lucey finished with six RBIs and three hits. Derek Green had four hits. Kenny Prewitt threw the first two innings to pick up the win.
