Diabetes support group meeting to educate about growing vegetables

CARTHAGE, Ill. -- The diabetes support group will meet 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Memorial Medical Building Conference Room.

Master Gardener Laura Mosena will present information on Growing Vegetables in Containers. Every attendee will receive a plant pot to take home. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers, and healthy refreshments will be served.

Facilitators are Pam Hartzell RN, CDE, Memorial Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Education program, and Maureen Crawford of the Hancock County Health Department. Sponsors are Memorial Hospital, Hancock County Health Department and Hancock County Volunteers for Diabetes. This group is open to all area diabetics and their families, friends and caregivers.
