Cougars struggle to generate offense in CCC loss

MACON, Mo. -- The Highland baseball team managed only one hit Thursday in a 7-1 Clarence Cannon Conference loss to Macon.

Isaac Brown led off the game with a double for Highland (5-6). After a sacrifice bunt and a ground out from Chad Smith, the Cougars led 1-0.

Highland had only two runners make it to second base the next six innings, both with two outs.

Macon (9-4) tied the game in the bottom of the second and took the lead in the bottom of the third. Meade Fry earned the victory for Macon, striking out eight over six innings.
