PERRY, Ill. -- The Pittsfield baseball team scored 11 runs in the first inning and didn't look back in a 22-2 five-inning victory over Griggsville-Perry Wednesday.
The Saukees (11-6) sent 15 to the plate in the opening frame and collected 11 hits. Seven of those hits were extra bases, and JD Gresham and Korbyn Personett hit home runs.
Personett and Jacob McIntire both had four RBIs, while Thomas Hull and Gresham had three. Pittsfield had 10 different players drive in a run.
The Tornadoes scored their first run in the bottom of the first on Jonathan Myers' RBI single. Ryan Kelley stole home in the third for Griggsville's other run.
Jon Moore picked up the victory for Pittsfield after he allowed two hits in four innings. He struck out three.
