RUSHVILLE, Ill. -- The Rushville-Industry baseball team scored 10 runs in the final three innings to beat Liberty 11-10 Wednesday.
Liberty (4-6) took a 6-0 after a two-run triple by Kyle Zanger in the top of the fourth inning. Rushville (9-5) answered with its first run in the bottom half of the frame, but Liberty tacked on three more runs in the fifth on an RBI single and a two-run double.
That's when the Rockets made their comeback by scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth to trim the deficit to 9-6. A run in the sixth made it 9-7 before Liberty scored one in the seventh.
Rushville, however, loaded the bases after scoring one run and consecutive bases-loaded walks brought in the tying and game-winning runs.
Liberty's Shane Ormond was 4 for 4 with two RBIs, while Connor O'Neil had three hits and an RBI.
