MOBERLY, Mo. -- Hays Klocke was tagged for two runs in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday.
He settled down, and pitched the Knox County baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Paris in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament. Knox County (5-4) advances to play Scotland County at noon Saturday in the semifinals.
Klocke threw a complete game for the Eagles, allowing just three hits and struck out 14. He struck out the side in the second and fifth innings.
He didn't any Coyotes (4-6).
Knox County scored in the third inning and tied the game in the fourth on an RBI triple by Nickolas Edwards. In the sixth, Klocke hit a fly ball to shallow right, and Hayden Miller tagged up to score the go-ahead run.
Kyle Strange and Cory Moubry had two hits for the Eagles.
