Campbell tosses one-hitter, Tigers stay undefeated

MOBERLY, Mo. -- Grant Campbell tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out nine to guide the Scotland County baseball team to a 17-0 victory over Fayette Wednesday in the Lewis & Clark Conference Tournament.

The Tigers improve to 10-0 on the season, and will play Knox County at noon Saturday in the semifinals.

Scotland County led just 3-0 after three innings, but erupted for a 14-run fourth inning to put the game out of reach.

In the frame, the Tigers banged out 13 hits. Gage Dodge had a two-run double, and Will Fromm added a two-run triple that made the score 15-0.

Aaron Buford was 3 for 3 for the Tigers. Dodge was 3 for 4 with four RBIs, and Fromm was 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Lane Pence also had three hits and drove in three.

Justin McKee drove in two runs.

Campbell threw all five innings for Scotland County.

Fayette's one hit came on a two-out double in the first inning.
