CANTON, Mo. -- The Culver-Stockton College baseball team committed seven errors on Sunday in 4-3, 13-7 doubleheader loss to Mount Mercy in a Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader.
The Mustangs (10-11, 3-3 Heart) took the lead in the opener with a run in the top of the fourth inning, but the Wildcats (13-11, 3-5 Heart) answered immediately in the bottom half on Jhonathan Mendoza's RBI single. Mount Mercy regained the lead with three more runs in the sixth inning, but C-SC responded with two runs in the bottom half when Brandon Cotter scored on a wild pitch and Robin Felix smacked an RBI single.
The Wildcats' Matt Kuhl led off the seventh with a single for the Wildcats and advanced to third base with two outs, but he was stranded when Cotter struck out to end the game.
Mount Mercy scored four runs in the first inning and eight more in the second to take control in the second game. C-SC scored four runs in the bottom of the second but never got closer than six runs.
Kuhl had a double, two singles and a home run, three runs scored and four runs batted in. Franklin Rojas had three hits and three RBIs, and Alex Satunas had two hits.
