Miller named MVP in all-star game

PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- Cory Miller of Unity High School scored a game-high 21 points to help Team Pepsi rally for a 131-123 victory over Team Mountain Dew in the WBBA/WJBM All-Star Classic Saturday night at Voshall Gym.

Team Pepsi trailed 74-54 at halftime before Miller scored 20 points in the second half, 11 of those in the fourth quarter. Miller was named the Team Pepsi most valuable player. Justin Bottorff of Quincy Notre Dame scored 15 points for Team Pepsi.

Nick Reel of Pittsfield led Team Mountain Dew with 19 points. Dominic Booth of North Greene scored 14 points to earn Team Mountain Dew MVP honors.

Miller won the 3-point contest, finishing with 13 points, while Max Stinebaker of Griggsville-Perry won the free throw contest and Jacob Ridenhour of Jerseyville won the dunk contest.

Team Mountain Dew won the alumni game with a 112-109 victory over Team Pepsi. Brown County graduate Justin Volk was named the MVP.
