Illini West allows four in top of seventh

CARTHAGE, Ill. -- The Illini West baseball team surrendered four runs in the seventh inning and lost 4-2 against Beardstown on Saturday.

Kennedy Gooding started the game for the Chargers (1-1) and threw four scoreless frames.

Illini West scored first in the bottom of the sixth when pinch-runner David Dunlap scored on an error. Beardstown responded with four runs in the top half of the seventh, and Illini West could only answer with one run in the bottom half of the inning.
