BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Anthony Winter had nine kills and a service ace in a 25-11, 27-25, 25-23 victory for the Quincy University men's volleyball team over Belmont Abbey on Friday at King University.
The Hawks took an early 8-1 lead and were never threatened in the first set. QU trailed 12-7 in the second set but came back to tie the score, then finished the set with back-to-back kills by Winter and a kill from Shane McAdams.
The Hawks led 10-7 in the third set, but Belmont Abbey took a 22-21 lead. A kill from Jacob Sheets tied the game at 22. A pair of attack errors and a service error on Belmont ended the game.
Jarrod Kelso had eight kills, three digs and five blocks for the Hawks.
